Bringing Horse and Rider Together... for fun and family
Welcome to Trail Riders
Saddle Club, Inc. You will find all the information you need to
learn about our saddle club and important information for existing
members.
About Us:
- Trail Riders has been in existence for fifty years! We are one of the original saddle clubs that took part in the formation of the Western Saddle Club Association in 1955.
- Our mission is to simultaneously enjoy our horse hobby while developing and enriching friendships in a fun, competitive, family-oriented environment.
- Trail Riders is a saddle club based in the eastern part of the twin cities metro area. Our club currently has approximately 80 families, and our members come from all over the metro area, as well as Wisconsin.
- Trail Riders meets monthly from March through November, and we end the year in December with a Christmas party that includes our officer elections, royalty selections and year-end awards.

Club Functions:
Our club hosts monthly fun shows at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo on the Friday following the general membership meeting. Our fun shows are only open to club members. The fun shows include the following events: Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, Pole Weaving, and Barrels. The events are broken down in the following age brackets; Pee Wee (10 and under), Junior (11 – 13), Intermediate (14 – 17), Senior (18-34), and Senior Plus (35+). No awards are given out at the fun shows, but rather points are accumulated and year-end awards are given at the Christmas party for the top five in each age category (pleasure and games). We understand the importance of encouraging our youngest riders, so trophies are given to ALL pee wee riders at our awards ceremony.
Special Note:
- Each year Trail Riders will be hosting one open show
- Our club also participates in three parades each year
- Trail Riders has four royalty positions: Queen, Princess, Lil’ Miss, and Lil’ Buckaroo
- We organize two trail rides a year
